IDS proudly bring you the 7th annual Dance Teacher Conference (DTC), this August at the Elmhurst Ballet School!

DTC offers Dance Teachers a unique experience where the classes are geared to introducing new steps, routines, and ideas, giving you as teachers something you can take back to school to excite and reinvigorate your pupils. Dance Teacher Conference

DTC 2017 is proudly sponsored by Bloch and is returning to Elmhurst Ballet School in Birmingham on the 1st and 2nd August 2017. There will be 15 classes a day with three running concurrently. Classes are an incredible £15 for a one hour session taught by industry leaders. The whole day is only £75 plus lunch in the Bistro if desired at only £9. Tickets are available to purchase now on Stage Stubs. We also have a fantastic deal with a hotel just a 10-minute drive from the Elmhurst Ballet School. If you are planning to attend the DTC, call Jan today on 01626 36 32 32 to find out more about this special offer.

International Dance Supplies’ programme of Continuing Professional Development (CPD) is endorsed by the Council for Dance Education and Training (CDET) so teachers attending a session at the DTC will receive a certificate of attendance and a transcript at no extra cost. This is a fun way to add to your CPD programme and you have the advantage of sharing your experiences with your fellow delegates.

We are starting off the two days with a free session of “Breakfast with Bhangra” taught by Sohan Kailey which will give you a chance to meet your fellow delegates before you scatter to the different classes of your choice. The line-up of faculty members for 2017 covers a wide range of dance genres including Dominic Antonucci, Ballet Master with Birmingham Royal Ballet Company; Graham Fletcher, former Principal Dancer with The Royal Ballet Company and, returning by popular demand, Hope Keelan who will all help you with tips on teaching ballet. Joseph Prouse and Kelly Ewings will impart their experience in Musical Theatre in the West End, Graeme Henderson will help you with your tap and Tom Shilcock, Dax O’Callaghan and James Robinson will steer you through the world of Street and Commercial. Also returning to teach is Anne Walker MBE, founder of IDS and the Conference, who will give you a clearer understanding of how to market and run your business more efficiently in order to achieve greater profitability.

There will be a Workshop on the Wednesday based on Matthew Bourne’s ballet “The Red Shoes” and, on the Tuesday, Odette Hughes from Studio Wayne McGregor will be teaching a contemporary ballet class. This session will follow an explosive class taken by Christian “Big Chris” Alozie from the acclaimed Street Dance Collective “Flawless”. For something completely different Wanlin Steele will excite you with a class on Chinese Dance giving you tips on how to include this in your next show.

Apart from the classes you will have the chance to view the New Range of garments before the IDS 2017-2018 catalogue comes out! Just pop in to see the Showroom display and also take advantage of the fantastic End of Range Sale which proved so popular last year.

Just go to www.idsdanceteacher.com to see more details and click here to view the Timetable to help you plan your classes.

Make sure you keep coming back to the website as we will add more faculty as the Conference approaches. You do not have to stay all day, just come for half a day if you need to. Book tickets now before your favourite class is sold out!
